Kay Lancaster - Blackwell Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) is not excessively
aggressive in our restored tallgrass prairie in south-central Michigan. In
contrast, Cave-in-Rock Switchgrass is very aggressive; I will not plant the
Cave-in-Rock variety again on my site. Our soil is mesic but much of it is
relatively heavy clay. Perhaps heavy clay is not supportive of aggressive
growth of Switchgrass when the vaariety is Blackwell. Clifford Welsch
