RE: Hyacinth

No rabbits or deer, there were 100's of them along a strip of highway between
highway and rail road tracks in the middle of 1000's of acres of corn and soy
beans. The only wildlife were the people driving by!

Rabbits??? Deer???

They (and shooting star)are often eaten at Meadowbrook Prairie, and in my
own yard. I fence some off in order to obtain seed.

Carmassia Scilloides
I located a patch of this where there were hundreds scattered about. I was
unable to 'mark' the spot at that time. I went back to the approximate spot
a
mere 7 days later, and could not find a single flowering plant or find any
plants at all. :-(
Can someone pass on some comments on this species and offer suggestions on
its
'disappearance'?
The only difference between the 2 days was that is was 20 degrees cooler
when I
went back to 'mark the spot' so I could collect the seeds later....
Location: Central Illinois
Thanks
