"We have found a prairie remnant within the Orchard Park subdivision in
Medina, TX.  Known species present include; big blue, little blue,
Indiangrass, switchgrass, side oats, Texas grama, buffalograss and various
forbs.  The total area is about 150, some tracts have been sold and some
already have houses.  There is a 63 acre contiguos area and I have attempted
to find a buyer.  The going price is $4,000/acre.

"Please let me know if any of you are interested in looking at this prairie
or know of where I may get assistance in saving this prairie.  It is located
near the school and would make a great outdoor education area for students.
It could be burned periodically (it needs it now and the owners will allow
me to burn it next winter), and the school could monitor with transects.  It
would be great for kids to learn what once grew here.  This is the best
piece of prairie I have seen since leaving South Dakota 10 years ago."
