Bring your friends and come out and spend a relaxing informative fun-filled
evening in the middle of the Loess Hills at the Scenic Hitchcock Nature
Center 27792 Ski Hill Lane Honey Creek Iowa. North Of Council Bluffs
with your many friends at this year's third-annual Loess Hills
Preservation Society recognition dinner.
Not only is this a terrific opportunity to come meet and recognize the
efforts of a number of dedicated individuals who will be recognized for
their efforts on behalf of the Loess Hills, this also is an opportunity to
enjoy the music of the ROUND HOUSE BAND during the social hour and learn
about the 'Grassland Legacy of the Hills' in a program by Dr. Tom Rosburg --
noted expert and speaker on Iowa's Natural History.
Date: Saturday, June 7th
Social Hour: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Music by the ROUND HOUSE BAND - an old time folk and bluegrass band

About the speaker:
TOM ROSBURG is a native of the Loess Hills born in Sioux City and raised in
Monona County. Educated at Iowa State University, Tom received his BS in
Fisheries and Wildlife Biology. After years of work in the conservation
field, Tom returned to ISU and received an MS in plant ecology in 1990 with
an emphasis in restoration of remnant, native grasses in Southern Iowa. In
1994, Tom earned his PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology with an
emphasis in community and physiological ecology of native grasslands in the
Loess Hills of Western Iowa.
Tom has been part of the faculty of Drake University since 1996. Current
titles include Associate Professor of Biology, Co-Chair of Environmental
Science and Policy, Director of Drake Biodiversity Center and Drake
Coordinator for Iowa Lakeside Lab.
Tom is a sought after expert and speaker about the Loess Hills, leading
numerous field trips and giving many public talks on various aspects of Iowa
Natural History every year. Tom also is an accomplished photographer and
his work has been published in magazines and calendars and displayed in
photographic exhibitions.
