everything else vs prairie

Austin has purchased many thousands of acres of land in the
northwest, west and southwest (where the LBJWC is located), driven
(1) by an endangered species conservation plan/permit and (2) by
aquifer recharge issues for Barton Springs in the heart of Austin,
what we call Watershed Protection Lands.

The Tallgrass Prairie is on the east side of I. 35 which divides
Austin north/south. Pennies requested compared with millions already
spent. And naturally this Open Space proposal includes new tens of
millions, once again, for aquifer protection. I'm not against that.
Please don't anyone write and explain to me how important that is.
Just tired of begging for Tallgrass and going unanswered. This is
our first real chance for public money.
