I live in Georgetown, Texas and have been subscribing to this list-serve for
some time. I have been very interested in comparing the bloomings in your
area with the bloomings in our area. I have a wildflower prairie of about
1/2 acre (my back yard) that currently has in bloom many Mexican hats,
hymenoxes, gallardia and blue mealy sage among the various grasses and
smaller flowering plants. Deer browse thru the yard daily.
I am interested to know if any of you have developed a list of "deer
resistant" native plants. If you have, I'd like to add your list to mine.
The Georgetown Chapter of the Native Plants Society of Texas has as its
project this year and next, the production of an "authoritative" list of
these plants that can be given to new home owners and others in encouraging
them to move away from imports to native plants in their landscapes. Any
help would be appreciated. thanks
