Gabriel,
The Doris Westfall Prairie ( approx. 40 acres) at Forest Glen
County Park, Vermilion Co. On May 16 of this year it became an Illinois nature
preserve. I believe it is the only prairie restoration in the state to have
this designation. Doris began this project in the late 60's or early 70's.You
can visit the county park website at www.vccd.org
Also , depending on the size that you are looking at, Garfield
School, In Danville has a very small (500 sq. ft) 4 year old project and
Liberty School has a tiny (100 sq. ft.)10 year old project. Also Judith
Giacoma School in Westville has just started a prairie restoration this
spring. I think this project was going to be about 10,000 square feet.
Hope this might help.
