Dear Gabriel Mason:

Shaw Arboretum, 35 mi. west of St. Louis and where I work as 
naturalist, has a variety of ages and approaches to both woodland and 
prairie restoration on its 2400 acres. I'd be happy to show you 
around. You may also want to see the work being done at Shoal Creek 
Barrens, a beautiful wild city park (!!!) in the LItchfield, IL park 
system. Henry Eilers of Litchfield is the steward.

There are others closer to Urbana, but I figured you'd know 
about those already.
