Sorghastrum avenaceum


 Thank you for your reply to my Rhus typhina question - I had a relative
back in the 1950's who grew it in Tuscola, IL and always wondered if there
was a local population in that area.

  I recently ran across  the botanical name Sorghastrum avenaceum for
Indiangrass I have only known it as S. nutans - does one supercede the
other? Did Indiangrass, like Little Bluestem, get reclassified?
