there is an addendum from China, which has been borrowed by I know not who,
so I have lost that ref.

This, of course, is the water buffalo, the carabao, Bubalus

But I suspect you are enquiring about the native N. American Bison, (Bison
bison).  There is a good summary of their habits and husbandry by
