Re: New England Aster


New England aster is native in all but the subtropical parts of 
eastern US and southeastern Canada and west to the states bordering 
the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. There is also an outlier 
population in New Mexico. Rarely it produces white ray petals, or 
white tipped with blue or pink. The only normally white-flowered 
aster that I've seen even comes close to the showiness of A. 
novae-angliae is an occasional very robust specimen of A. simplex..
