Thanks Patrick! A couple of those are nurseries? Good. I'm interested in seeing as many nurseries as time allows. With all the help from this group, I may not get back before Christmas!
Most suggestions seem to be for established plantings or remnants. That will be great and I want to see as many as i can, but I'd also be especially interested in plantings of 5yrs. or less, since that's what I have to work with here, and only a handful. I really need to see how to expect these things to progress given different treatments, etc. So if you have any thoughts on that, I'd appreciate hearing them.
Thanks again for the good advice and I'll be sure and look for you if I find myself in your neighborhood.

These are excellent selections. I would add:
Midewin Tallgrass Prairie (south of Joliet, IL on 53)
The Natural Garden (west of St. Charles, IL on 64)
Taylor Creek Restoration Nursery/Applied Ecological Services (south
of Brodhead, WI) This where I work, so I may be biased.
The Internation Crane Foundation (south of Baraboo, WI)
just to name a few.Patrick Daniels
