Dan Dietz:
    In south-central Michigan, I burn only when that time has come when
there is sufficient biomass for an efficient and complete burn and I burn
only in late March or early April (reconstructions or restorations that are
about 10 years old or less).  If there is insufficient biomass, I mow (with
a Bush Hog) in late March or early April.  I burn or mow every year
(reconstructions or restorations that are about 10 years old or less!
Reconstructions/restorations older then 10 years and remnants I burn every
3 years, burning about 1/3 of a site each year.
