A big thank-you to all those who attended and made our event
successfull. The highlight of course was Gerry Checkon's story on Moonie and
Larry's demise. The day did allow us to assemble some of the best growers in one
room and compile a list of seeds that would give us the best genetics and here
is our list in random order :
1. Eaton 780
2. Geerts 746.5
3. Stellpflug 1056.5
4. Stellpflug 730
5. Mettler 865
6. Black 620
7. Shymanski 824 (Good Colour)
8. Stelts 801.5 (Best Colour - Least Genetic
Defects)
9. Lloyd 935
10. Checkon 815
11. Eaton 803
12. Greer 1006
13. McInnis 810
14. Sproule 968
Our apologies to the attendees that our irrigation speaker did
not show up but because of the tentative early spring , they were rushed off
their feet. I did talk to them however and they are offering us a special offer
to purchase row covering material (similar to remay) in up to 50 foot widths at
half price. The rolls come in 800 foot lenghts which could be divided amongst
interest growers. The price for a 50' X 50' piece would be $50.00 Can.
before taxes or shipping. If anyone is interested ,please e-mail me direct at p*@log.on.ca The product name is
Novagtyl Plus. I am also working on a special price for Roberts drip tape.
