I have a Hunt 991 seed that has not yet been planted and would be interested
in a photograph of your plant. I wonder if there is any benefit to the
increased number of side vines along the main vine. I am curious if anyone
else has observed this strange growth pattern before or it's consequences.
double troubles?

Subject: FL patch progress-a very good week, but one odd thing
I put in a Mombert 749 and a Hunt 991 Feb 15th, and both have set fruit this
past week. The Mombert plant has three pollinations and the Hunt has one,
with more coming along on both.
No bug problem this season so far, and both plants look perfectly healthy. I
did notice one odd thing about the Hunt 991, it's side vines grow off the
main in pairs from one leaf axil. Imagine the main vine, with two side vines
coming off the same side of the main in pairs at the same leaf axil, then on
the other side of the main vine, further down, another pair of side vines
grow from the same leaf axil. Has anyone ever seen this? I think I might
nickname this plant Noah's Ark.
I can take a picture or two of this different growth pattern for the list to
see, if anyone's interested.
