Cheese Pumpkin - Support

I happened upon your site (backyardgardener.com) and
thought you might
be
able to help. I'm trying to find information on a
variety of pumkin
that
I've only found in NJ. We moved to the midwest seven
years ago to Ohio,
then to Michigan. While in NJ, I made pumpkin pies
exclusively from
what I
was told was a "cheese pumpkin". Since we've come out
west, I can't
find
this variety and most folks have no idea what I'm
talking about. I've
also
tried several times to grow this pumkin, but they
never matured in
time.
This leads me to believe that it needs a longer
growing season than the
midwest has to offer.

The pumpkin is shaped similar to any other pumkin
except that it looks
as
thiough the air was let out of it. Also, the color is
buttnut - like
the
squash.
