Nice start! I think everyone is either digesting data or out in the patch.
I have but a few comments on your data sheet:
Generally, we might want to have separate info on each site vs each pumpkin.
This will depend on how info is entered into a database, but I am growing 4
pumpkins at one site and don't want to fill out the same info four times.
Aspect: (eg South East)
-What exactly are you looking for? Orientation of the site? Slope
orientation?
Latitude (if known)______
- Do you want longitude as well? How about elevation?
Soil
-It would be nice to have a general field: 'Describe your soil'. This way
people can volunteer as detailed description as they want. With the Kinsey
test several of us have been using, we have info on micronutrients that
might be helpful.
Another question to ask is if rain/lake/pond/city water was used for
watering.
Seed and Early growth stages
-Ethan Jervis has a real nice Excel spreadsheet that might help gather info
here. It might be printed for those who do not have access to the
appropriate software.
