Welcome to the Cucurbit Downy Mildew Forecasts for 2001. The forecasts will
be generated on Tuesday and Thursday each week from mid-March through the end
of the season. Additional forecasts can be provided during peak epidemic
periods. Timely information on the occurrence of Downy mildew and the future
movement of inoculum (fungus spores) in the United States is important in
managing this fast-moving plant disease epidemic.
This is the fourth year this service has been available. Hopefully, users
will find the trajectory maps and other information useful in determining
both the arrival of inoculum and the Risk Outlooks for their production
areas. We look forward to working with growers, industry,and agencies in
providing these forecasts for 2001. We are very interested in your comments
