Ok I usually hang around and read posts for help being that I am only a second year grower. But lately all I here is Pumpkin this Squash that and so on. My question is I thought they were all Cucurbits? This weigh off thing has become racial; I am not prejudice of a green pumpkin and I think if a grower grows a Cucurbit 1000 pounds or what ever it should be judged a pumpkin. I don’t understand why there are two categories. Wouldn’t it be simpler just to weigh them all as pumpkins? Is it that shameful to be beat out by a green pumpkin? I wish we could get back the growing info

Dennis,
I think it would be better to weigh them all as squash, that's what a C. maxima is.
