Fwd: Laemmle color - Another example picture included.

List,
I just have to get my plug in. I too, have been breeding for color and
shape ever since my first weigh off at Topsfield that was won by Warren
Cole's 920. It was a beautiful Red, Orange. The 920 seed did not continue to
throw the color but I was able to obtain a 567.4 Wallace seed that grew it!
Thanks Ron!
In 2000 I grew a 600est (went down before weigh off) I crossed it with the
801 Stelts. My 600est was beautiful Red Orange. This year I grew a 667 from
it that I was very proud of. Please go to Bigpumpkins.com. Click on Weigh
offs. Then click on Durham CT. 2001. Names of the winners will come up. I
took third, you have to scroll down to see the pictures. Please click on
third place photo and it will enlarge. Now, I do believe, color gets no
better. It also was a very long stem that was trouble free. I crossed the 667
with the 544 Wallace (946.5 Geerts X 801 Stelts). The 544 did not throw great
color but was my best plant. The 544 was orange, and with the 801 in it I'm
hoping the Orange shows up again next year in pumpkins grown from my 667.
Ron Wallace, Dave Hampton, Don Langevin, John Castilucci and myself are
all headed to Canada tomorrow! See you there!

Mike,
Thanks for the "red" support!  I posted my picks last week for people who want this very orange type pumpkin (like me!)...
Yes...the 731 Stucker is one, the 691 Nesbitt is another,  847.5  Christiansen 01, 912 Holland 01 -  567.5 Mombert x 801.5 Stelts,  940 Mombert 00 genetics, 760 Patrick...basically anything with the 801.5 Stelts x sibbed or self is awesome.
I'm hoping year after year...this will get polished....just need time to be able to produce something like this year in and year out.  Good Luck to all in 2002!

There are a bunch of great red orange pumpkins out there

Stucker 731.......David Bhaskaran has been doing some great red orange work.
Bob Troys is nice .......Eric Carlson........you all know the red/orange
they stand out.  Get those seeds and self them on the side for Halloween
lets do that for a while and when some one thinks they got the red gene
fixed.................pass out the seeds to many to plant for Halloween and
see if the all end up red orange.........

Then if the green folks do the same for green ....it would be cool to cross
and see what happens.......
