RE: help needed
Commercially we use Treflan, but prefer Prowl, at half the rate of
Cotton. As I recall we use 2 pints on Cotton. We have seen root damage
under certain conditions, but we still use it every year.
We also use Command post plant and pre emergence.
There is a new chemical this year called Sandia, Spanish for watermelon.
This chemical is labeled for all cucurbits but they are not going to
suggest post emergence on all plant types this year for liability sake.
They feel it will be labeled that way latter.
If I were wanting big and did not want to stress plant at all I believe
I would use the hoe. We can't completely rely on manual hoeing on 70
acres but usually have to do it twice a year anyway.
