Bill Greer
It was announced at Niagara that a true pioneer of growing Giant pumpkins was
ill.
Bill Greer has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease).
I have had the pleasure of Bill's company several times at the Ottawa weigh
off
and at The Guelph siminars. Bill is a true gentleman in every aspect. Bill is
also one of the pioneers of this passion we call Giant Pumpkins. If memory
serves correctly he was the 1st Canadian to go over 1,000 pounds.
May we all keep Bill Greer and Fred Calai, and all the other
Giant Pumpkin growers who thru their hard work and diligence made it easier
for all of us, in our prayers.

prayers.
