Been a wet season here in Boonville 56 inches of rain to date and probably
more on the way.

A very kind grower sent me some 1337---seed and I love the cross and will
plant it. ......but whats weird when you think at a glance not much has
really ever come from world record seed-------either I am dead wrong and
can't think of any---------I know the 827 Holland had some good offspring
but that9s all I can think of------- it seems so weird ehh

Another strange observation is some seasons growers have all their pumpkin
go light and the next all heavy with the same genetics example.. Bob Ruff..
I know we focused on calcium to help add weight but a comment from the soils
guy that high levels of potass can hinder the uptake of calcium then there
Boily down under heavy genetics light to the charts........ Too high
potassium? Need to ask that guy........

I know genetics play a role but sometimes weight seems to be connected to
environmental factors too. Perhaps there is a optimum level that aids in
the uptake -----

I wonder if we can find a pattern of high potassium and not so heavy
pumpkins.........heavy pumpkins and not too high potass.

I think the rain stopped got to go!....MB
