Re: They won't germinate

Luc,

These AG seeds need some real warmth to germinate.
They need about 85 degrees... without it, they'll
just sit there. There are several options to
accomplish this, one of the most simple is to use
a heating pad under the pots, and also put plastic
over the pots.

The pointed end of the seed is where the root emerges.
There are several ideas as to what is the optimum
way to orient the seed, but most just put the seed in
with the pointed end down.

You really need heat! I hope it's not too late for
the ones you've already attempted to start. If you
add heat, I think some of them will come up... 20 days
is a long time to be mushy, but I always have seeds that
germinate after sitting in the garden all winter,
freezing at night and thawing in the day, etc.

Regards, Cliff

Dear list,

I did planted 5 pumpkinseeds with different genetics 20 days ago in 7 inch
pots on my window-sill.
None of them did germinate. I think they were great seeds. COX1048, Brown1007,
bobier845Xcox1048, cox1048Xbobier1025. I wonder what i have doing wrong. Is it
possible that i put them upside down?
What is the upside anyway? I still have 2 seeds left. What can i do to
optimize my chances to let them germinate?

Thanks,

Luc Bex
