I don't think it's in pepo's genetics; all the big varieties like AG's, Big
Max, Prizewinner, etc are in the c. maxima family, & that family was named
maxima for a reason! You want a big & nice shaped "normal type" pumpkin, it
still may be a maxima: Prizewinner or Big Max.

There just isn't that many grown, I would love to see some really nice
looking "regular" pumpkins but the attention has been to just growing AG's.
If you come across anyone with seed that they think will produce "big"
cucurbita pepo. I would love to get some as well. I know that Howden
Biggie and Jumpin Jack should produce pumpkins when well grown to over 50
lbs.
