Re: watering
I live right across the river from Ohio in West Virginia. When it rains you
just don't water. You'll soon find how much better a rain is than a
mechanical watering for the plant and pumpkin. It's like a good foliar
feeding from the atmoshere with N and micros. I'd much rather it rain than
water myself. Check your soil 2" down and if it's damp don't water. Your
soil will be more claylike in Ohio as well, I usually water 60 gal. per
plant of water every other day, on average, unless it rains any equal or
close amount and then I don't water. If it is dry and windy I may need more,
if damp and humid maybe less.E-mail me privately if you have any more
questions about this area. I alternate watering every other day by watering
wand under the leaves and plant, by soaker hose and by whizzer sprinkler,
and repeat. I f it rains I skip or hold off until the ground needs water.
E-mail me privately if you have any more questions about this area. Don
