RE: false bloom

Hello Greg,

I'm not familiar with the term "false bloom" either though some flowers can
lack some or all of the reproductive parts. This might be more common in a
young plant under less than ideal growing conditions. Early in the year the
plant is probably sporting a lot of small male flowers. Later in the season
you should be seeing normal male & female flowers.

Where is your friend growing & how old is this plant? Has it been stressed?

Hi all!

A friend recently asked me about false bloom. Frankly, I've never heard

the term before, so I thought I would run it past the experts. Can

anyone explain the term 'false bloom' as far as giant pumpkins go?

Thanks a bunch and good luck to all you growers out there!

Greg
