   This time of year you will always hear of growers jumping the gun. This is
not an advantage and is actually a disadvantage. Unless you are in some
unusually cold climate, you can take the date you would like to have your
pumpkin ready, count backwards 140 days.....thats your transplant date. Back
up another week and plant the seed. Young transplants do better than big
gawky ones.
