prize for the next Really Big One?

Now that the $50,000 prize for the first 1,000 lb pumpkin has been won, has
anyone set up a prize for the next big hurdle?    What weight would
qualify?  1,500 lbs?  2,000 lbs?  It would have to sound almost impossible
(but just maybe doable) to be sufficiently motivating.

I gather that prizes work like insurance policies ... somebody pays the
premium and the insurers carry the risk.  Do I have that right?
