Re: Just a Farmer
For Farmer's Wives
There must be tucked away in heaven
A special little place
A corner marked "For Farmer's Wives"
With laughter, lists and lace.
The laughter, for without it
We dear farmerwives would despair;
We need it to encourage
And uplift our men in prayer.
The list, of things to "get in town"
For dinners in the field.
We need memos of tractor parts~
"You sure M'am, does it squeal?"
The lace, as a reminder
Of the feminine side of us.
Those overalls get awfully warm~
We need to "primp and fuss.
But I'm grateful for this union
And I thank God with my heart;
That I can share these earthly dreams,
That I can have a part.
