Don,
I like the temperature controlled seed propagation mats or even a heating
pad set on low. With a heating pad you must put a cookie sheet with a lip
around the edge on top of the pad for you don't want water on the heating
pad....ZZZAAAAAPPPP!!! You don't have to change water bottles or fool around
with it. Changing water bottles three times a day is too much like
work....I'd
rather work in the patch.

I still like the direct method with the soil heating cable. Germinates the
seeds no matter what the weather and helps the plants grow in cool weather.
