Re: Tillers

Hey, Barb!  That sounds like a terrific gift to me.  My husband bought me a
Troy-bilt 5 h.p. Pony model tiller with ELECTRIC start for Christmas in
1991.  It is a fantastic machine! (our friends think he is nuts, he also
has bought me a potato fork and a hatchet!)   Until then my neighbor would
plow and disc in the spring, then I used an old-fashioned push cultivator
the rest of the season.  What a contrast in equipment.  It's true about the
Troy-bilts: once you get down through the top several inches of soil, all
you need is one hand to guide it through the garden. I'm able to do all the
minor maintenance and can even load into the back of my Blazer when friends
want to borrow it.  It weighs 185 lbs but unless it starts to tip (my
garden is on the side of the hill) I have no trouble maneuvering it.
