CucurByte

Hi everyone,

I'm back to ask for your opinions.

I have been developing what I hope could one day represent the standard
in Windows software for tracking the sport of competitive pumpkin
growing. The first release is nearing completion.

Some features :

Runs on Windows 95, 98, and NT. Will NOT run under Windows 3.1 or
earlier.

Track growers information. Allows the entry of personal grower
information and bar charts a grower's progress (maximum specimen weight)
through the years.

Tracks weigh-off site information. Allows the entry of basic weigh-off
information and bar charts average weights at that site throughout the
years. Feature an additional statistics screen for even more information
based on the pumpkins entered for this site.

Tracks pumpkin information including grower, parents, site where
weighed, weight, measurements, and much, much more. Even allows you to
associate a picture file with each specimen.

Calculate and renders hierarchy trees in fonts and colors of your
choosing. All pumpkin entries are independant . This means the trees are
calculated based on an accumulation of previous entries. No need to ever
enter information for the same pumpkin twice.

Full print and print preview capabilties. Even allows you to save the
hierarchy tree image to a BMP file or copy it to the Windows clipboard
for pasting into other documents. Very handy if your wish to create your
own custom reports.

Has a query builder screen for querying the database using criteria of
your choosing. Very powerful tool, extremely helpful, and lots of fun
too. Provides print facilities for generating your own custom reports.

Multiple document interface for managing multiple databases.

Written in Visual C++ 5.0. Uses DAO and the Microsoft Access Jet
database.

A couple of you on the list already have this and have given it
favorable reviews. Richard Noffke has been using it from the start and
has been an immense help in testing and data entry. I would like to
publicly thank him for his efforts.

If you would be interested in something such as this, please respond to
me PRIVATELY indicating so. Please, please respond PRIVATELY. I am
undecided at this time as to how or even if I should market it and
determining a potential user base will help make that decision.

Get those seeds ready,

Mike Nepereny
