Dear Pumpkin (fellow farmers) growers,
I am in need of some assistance. Some of the new members may not
understand what I am asking, but most of the members who have been on
this list for some time, will understand what I am asking.
In short, I am a 228 acre farm, producing- vegetable crops, Christmas
trees, Hunting preserve, sheep herding facilities and at one time a Saw
mill operation.
My local town first attacked me on the hunting preserve. The town felt
that this farm was too close to homes, that kids would enter the farm
and get hurt, the wild life (pheasants, quail, etc) would be destroyed
within months of the preserve opening, hunters would be in danger of
there lives, blah, blah, blah
My town, then felt that a Saw Mill operation here on the farm would be
a hazard to the local residents of the farm because large logging trucks
would be entering and leaving the farm on a daily basis, that the saw
mill operation would be a hazard for kids or people entering the farm (
the actual saw).
The town’s building inspector looked for any reason to shut down this
operation for any reason he could find. After numerous letters sent to
him, he found that the farm had sold it’s real estate rights to the
state to keep this farm as a farm (Agricultural Preservation Rights,
APR). (The farm sold 223.5 acres to APR and kept out 4.5 acres) (4.5
acres of this farm is where the house, numerous barns such as the farm
stand, animal barn, shop barn, barns to hold equipment and fertilizer as
well as holding pens for the animals out of the APR as requested by the
state so we do not need to ask permission to add, modify the buildings).
This particular area (4.5 acres of land) ( one deed as a farm of 228
acres) is to be considered as residential land (is less than 5 acres as
established by the state of Massachusetts) (the town assessors office
and the Department of Agriculture consider this farm as one farm and one
piece of property) can not have a Saw Mill operation.
The towns’ Assistant building inspector ( who is also a fellow farmer
that abuts this farm) In the past he has made comments in the
newspapers. He slaughters 1000+ turkeys per year and rents a portion of
his land to operate a saw mill on his property. He has manipulated
the building inspector to attack this ( the last of the big farms on
Cape Cod) farm.
It is believed by me that certain people have been informed by the
assistant building inspector ( and will testify) that his intentions is
to cause this farm to fail so he could take over this farm.
The truth is that this farm has the right to operate a Saw Mill
(according to Massachusetts law) and regarding the hunting preserve, the
farm abuts a 2000 plus acre military preserve, more birds (pheasants or
quail) are seen by the neighbors more than ever before. Either I or my
wife, is here during any hunt and the hunters feel safer than any other
parcel of land ( the farm has had hunting, going on during regular
seasons, but was unable to control some of these hunters) by having this
license.
Here is where I am asking for your support.
For the last few years the assistant building inspector has failed in
passing the state test. ( the original test was faked) ( the building
inspector was put on suspension because he did not inform the town’s
manager that the assistant inspector FAILED his state test) I just was
informed that the assistant building inspector will be removed from his
job at the end of May.
I intend to let him know that I know he will be removed from his job at
that time. Some of you will feel that the removal of this job is
terrible but please understand that this man has, since the beginning of
his term in office, made it his life long dream to destroy me and my
family
Also understand that he has told others that he does not owe this farm
any money but I hold a legal letter, that when he filed for bankruptcy,
he named this farm for relief and the only thing this man lost were
bills not assets).
This man once told me that when you finished screwing a million people,
there are another million people just as dumb, to screw (and so on).
Many have told me "that this man will get his".
I wish to place a banner on the corner of my farm that abuts his and say
"I am sorry that you lost your job.
I need to tell him more.
Please help me let him know that he has caused many hardships to this
farm……..
Please e-mail me privately.
Totally sincere
David
