Where can I get a large hypodermic needle to inject vines, that have
been attacked by a stem borer, with insecticide? What is the best
insecticide to use in this technique. What is the proper technique.

Zoo,
Go to a dairy farmer, if there are any near you....they have big old cow
syringes. A vet might have something too. Use the same insecticide you use for
the vineborer program.....Methoxychlor or Asana etc. at regular strength. The
inside of the vine is hollow so keep slight pressure on the plunger of the
syringe as you push the needle in. When the needle hits the hollow center, you
will feel the plunger give as the liquid squirts in. You don't need to put
alot in. Just a little squirt at the borer hole and 6 inches on either side of
the hole. Then again at 1 foot intervals for a couple feet on either side of
the hole.
