I spent today inspecting gardens for the Rhododendron Festival in
Spring. Of the five I saw today two had giant pumpkins in the paddocks
that were not registered. I asked where they got them from and both said
the seed was given to them from last years growers. The pumpkins were so
golden orange (HI Jack) and about 3 - 400 pound.One grower was also
making a scarecrow so I was really proud of that as well.
The army will rally on 11th from all corners of Taranaki. (I am now
secretly hoping for 150 pumpkins).
I have had a fax from a Japanese film crew interested in coming over as
part of a "New Zealand funny competitions" series. Nt sure what to make
of that one.
