Some folks like auctions, whereas others don't. Some like
dozens of messages daily, others don't. Here, then, is a
simple solution which should please everyone - - subscribe
to the Digest!
It surprises me more people aren't on it. At the moment
there are 261 on the list, and only 70 on the digest. With
the Digest you get just one message daily, rather than 20,
30 or more.
Additional suggestions are:
1. Delete the Digest messages permanently as soon as they
come in. Don't even read them. They are too difficult to
read anyway. If there is anything worth saving, some
precious words of advice, or an email address, you can
always find it on the Archives. Besides, if you try to reply
to a message from the Digest, there is always the chance of
mistakenly quoting the whole thing (very uncool).
2. Do all your reading on the Archives. Its up-to-the-minute
and is beautifully organized to your preferences - date,
thread or author. You are presented with only the subject
line, and you can quickly scan through and decide what you
want to read.
3. And of course you can post from the Archives, as I'm
doing now. (For replies, the only thing I have to do in
Netscape is copy and paste is the subject line).
4. Finally if you are one of those who just read, but never
post messages, then why bother subscribing to anything! The
Archives is a web page which you (or anyone for that matter)
can read anytime. The only caveat is that you must be a
subscriber to post.
Hope this helps.
