Hi Steve,

First of all, I wish you could luck (I think you will need it). 

Maybe you could set up the following things to increase the interest 
of your record and keep you motivated. 

1. Install a WebCam connected to the WEB. 

2. Take a portable computer with you in the pumpkin. At least this 
should enable you to send and receive mails (=congratulations)
