A "cross" is obtained by hand pollinating a female flower with pollen from a
male flower on a different plant. The two plants do not share the same seed
origin.
A "self" is obtained by hand pollinating a female flower with pollen from a
male flower on the same plant as the female flower.
An "open" is obtained by letting mother nature doing the work, or by hand
pollinating a female flower with pollen from more than one male flowers from
different plants.
A "sib" is obtained by hand pollinating a female flower with pollen from a
male flower on a different plant but shares the same seed origin of the
female flower.
