Steve, the idea would be to try to get an indeterminate gene in the 
pumpkin. Theoretically it would allow the pumpkin longer growth cycle. 
My indeterminate tomato plants will produce fruit up to 9 months. If 
we could get another month of growth on our pumpkins,say up to 170 
days, imagine the weights we'd see. Pumpkinpiper
