If it's proportionally mixing the fertilizer why does it matter how long
the hose is? I need more than 50' of hose after my mixer, am i going to
have a problem?

Scott,
The hozon , or syphon type, depends on pressure drop across the device to
suck the liquid fertilizer out of the pail. If you have a long length of hose
after the device, you start to build up pressure on the outgoing side and the
unit stops sucking. Also this type of unit doesn't work on drip systems. A
dosamatic or Dosatron fertilizer injector is the way to go, but they are
expensive. They work on virtually any pressure or flow rate. Be prepared to
spend a couple hundred or more for one of these babies...good for a lifetime
of pumpkin growing.
