Had not thought of the incubator idea. Can't see why it wouldn't work.
There are two types of incubators; still and forced air, either would
work if you have them. A still air would be a type that is syraform or
these old galvanized 20' circular incubators. With a forced air
incubator, it is just that, forced air around the eggs in this case
seeds. Forced air to me is better, seems to control the humidity and air
flow better when hatching eggs. These machines can be pricey and slightly
bigger than the styrafoam. I don't think you should just go out and buy
one, there are cheaper methods of starting seeds, but it would work if
you owned one or had access to one.. Make sure the incubator is plugged
in and temerature has held for a day or more. Incubators kept in a room
should be at a constant temperatures. Both types have places to put
water for humidity. The factors, which make eggs hatch are the same for
sprouting seeds. Moisture, temperature, humidity and air movement are
crucial in both cases. Eggs hatch at 99.5 * optimum, highier than
germination, but temps can be regulated by adjustment on the unit.
