Wet paper towel is the only way that I have ever started my pumpkin seeds and
have had great success with it. I put 3 sheets folded up soaking wet with the
seeds in the middle between 2 dinner plates. I have an older kitchen stove
with pilot lights, so I use a wire rack for cookies between the 2 pilots and
set the plates on that within 2 days I have seeds sprouting. I do not file
the edges or soak the seeds and have yet to have any fail to sprout. If you
leave them in there to long they will push the plates up. I just put 5
A.G.seeds in there on Sunday and yesterday they had to be put in the dirt.
They were out and starting to root to the towel. I have never checked the
temperature in side the plates but I will do that tonight to find out and I
will post it.
