Somebody, please, share with me any facts, tricks, rumors, or
harebrained ideas - tried and true or otherwise - to help change the
pH as quickly as possible.
Should I plant one of the **HOTS**, or
hold it for next year??

Beth: The best defense at this point is to arrange for a load (dump truck
size) of sifted topsoil to be brought in. It will cost about $350, but is
money well spent to instantly correct your problem. Time is not on your side
here.
The lime you put down will work over a period of several months, but in the
meantime, you can plant with confidence with new topsoil. Kill two birds with
one stone. (No one said the answer would be this painful!)
Holding HOT seeds is probably not necessary; in a few short months, there
will be a new batch of HOT seeds and the ones you hold may become less
valuable.
