Blossom End Split :(

What a depressing sight to see one of your pumpkins with blossom end
split. It is even more depressing when you see it on your biggest and
best pumpkin, my 693 Heyne. This pumpkin had gained an estimated 185
pounds in the last nine days - a consistent 18-22 pounds per day. Today,
at an estimated 316 pounds and 30 days of life, it met its death with a
six inch vertical split across the blossom end. The potential for a
700-800 pound pumpkin no longer exists. :( I have other pumpkins in
the patch, but none with the vigor this one had. Life as an AG pumpkin
grower can be difficult at times.
