female troubles

OK, here goes. I have no idea what the problem is but, my plants are doing great, 20 to 25 foot main with very nice side runners all growing great, nice healthy looking vines and leaves but my females are not maturing at all.I had one female bloom open up, which I pollinated, it never took but i didnt worry thinking I had dozens of others, well, they grew to about half the size of average maturity for a female and just stayed there, eventually some of them are dying while others are still coming on as my plant matures but not growing to full maturity and opening.   HELP HELP HELP     
any ideas on what i need to do or what i could of done wrong???
