Yellow pumkins

Hi ,
this is my first year as a giant grower, and i was wondering.. are they
supposed to be yellow?All my females that are coming in are yellow and
so are the stems.. and none of them have matured. I think it may be too
much nitro..the reason they are falling off . but are they supposed to
be yellow? thanks BDR
