Re: Fusarium Wilt

           I had a very radical invasive form of fusarium wilt this spring. 
It was identified by Purdue back in June on my 801.5 Stelts plant.  In my 
case, the leaves wilted quickly and totally.  Half my plant was gone within a 
matter of 36 hours.  I was able to save the plant by cutting off all the 
infected sections.  My infection started on the end of the main vine and was 
working its way back toward the stump. I cut of all the plant from 2 feet out 
leaving only the secondary main and its offshoots. I know have two pumpkins 
pol. on July 18 & 19 approaching 200 pounds.  Don't give up yet.  Send a 
sample of your plant (overnight) to Purdue if you think it is diseased.  The 
cost is around $30. The address is below:
