I would tend to think the idea of acquiring seds now before the
weighoffs would be a very smart idea, because people might be less
willing to trade a seed after they hear 3 800+ pumpkins came from it
(after the weigh offs) than they would be before, because at that point
it is still an also ran.. I for one, have to agree with Andrew, give me
a one in ten chance at 1000 pounds, or a guaranteed official weight of
600 pounds, and Ill take the 1 in ten chance every time..
My buddy Mark Elsbree, the king of our local wiegh off said it best...
If I know I dont have a shot at a big one, and had to settle on 5-6
hundred pounds each and every year, I think the next seed planted in my
patch would be grass seed..."... Long live the king...
