Howdy!
Well news from my patch after losing a lot of pumpkin plants/pumpkin this
year to 17" of rain is actually good....I am WAY WAY down in pumpkins this
year, but I currently have the biggest and prettiest(handsomest?) pumpkin I
have ever grown.
We have had a nice streak of warm weather late in the year and most growers
in
MN who started late should also be enjoying these 65 degree nights! (versus
40!)
(Mine are a tad too old to really benefit a lot)
DAY 55 760 Patrick - 134, 88, 83 =305" OTT = 568lbs +79lbs for the week
DAY 61 837 Thorson- 112, 76, 81=269" OTT = 392lbs +25 lbs for the
week.(SQUASH....but a nice shaped fruit!)
DAY 66 815 Checkon - 110, 76, 82 = 268 OTT = 388lbs +21lbs for the week
DAY 54 850 Hester - 117, 73, 76 = 266" OTT = 379lbs + 44lbs for the week
This pumpkin/plant deserves a purple heart! Where the 401 Bhaskaran,
584 Klema and 932 McInytre all went down due to 17" of rain...this plant
survived in the same area and with a few leaves has produced this:
DAY 64 772 Creuziger - 105, 66, 70 = 241" OTT = 285lbs +22lbs for the week
Wishing you all the very best! The SE MN weighoff is Sept 30th in Austin, MN!
